Meet Mr Ferment

Your friendly guide to turning cabbage, tea, and flour into something alive and delicious.

Fermentation can feel intimidating from the outside — crocks and airlocks, warnings about mold, a hundred conflicting opinions online. It shouldn’t be. People have been fermenting food at home for thousands of years with little more than salt, a jar, and a bit of patience.

Mr Ferment exists to make that first batch — and the hundredth — easy and fun. We test and curate the gear that’s genuinely worth buying, skip the gimmicks, and write the kind of plain-spoken guides we wish we’d had when we started.

What we do

  • Curate the good stuff. Crocks, jars, weights, airlocks, live cultures, kits, and books — organized so you can find exactly what your next ferment needs.
  • Teach the basics. Our guides walk you through sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, kefir, and sourdough one clear step at a time.
